Wheel Lab · Bicester

Alloy wheel refurbishment & repairs.

Kerbed, scuffed, corroded or faded — our Wheel Lab refurbishes alloy wheels with diamond-cut precision, colour changes and structural repairs. Carried out at our Bicester depot.

What we do

Damage we see

What can be repaired.

Kerb damage

Scuffed or gouged rim edges from clipping a kerb — the most common repair we do.

Scratches & scuffs

Lacquer damage and light marks that dull the finish, repaired without a full strip.

Corrosion & lacquer peel

White bloom and lifting lacquer, stripped back to bare metal before refinishing.

Colour change

Take a standard silver wheel to gloss black, anthracite, bronze or a custom shade.

Diamond-cut wear

Re-cut on the lathe where there's enough material left, then re-lacquered.

Bent or buckled wheels

Straightened where the wheel is safe to straighten — assessed first, never assumed.

Cracked alloys

Inspected and repaired only where a structural repair is genuinely safe; otherwise we'll tell you to replace it.

Diamond cut versus painted finishes

A diamond-cut wheel is re-machined on a lathe to leave bright, precisely cut metal faces, then lacquered to protect them — it's the factory look on most modern premium cars, and it's the most delicate finish to keep good, because lacquer failure lets corrosion back in.

A painted or powder finish is more durable and far more forgiving of everyday kerb scuffs, and it's the route to gloss black, satin, anthracite, bronze and custom colours. We do both, and we'll advise which suits the wheel you've got.

Common questions

Alloy wheel refurbishment, answered.

How long does alloy wheel refurbishment take?

One to three days. Wheels need to be with us for at least a day, and we ask you to allow up to three so the finish can cure properly. We'll confirm the timescale when we quote for your wheels.

How much does it cost to refurbish alloy wheels?

It depends on the wheel size, how much damage there is and the finish you choose, so we quote per set rather than publishing a headline price. Upload photos of each wheel and we'll send you an accurate price.

Can kerbed alloy wheels be repaired?

In most cases, yes. Kerb damage and scuffs are repaired by dressing the rim edge, filling and refinishing the wheel to match or change the finish. Where damage is deeper than the finish — into the structure — we'll tell you what's realistically achievable before we start.

Can you repair cracked or buckled wheels?

Sometimes, and only after a proper assessment. Structural repairs are never something we promise over the phone or from a photo alone: a wheel that has cracked or been badly bent may be unsafe to repair, so it's inspected in person and we'll advise replacement if that's the right answer.

Do you do diamond-cut refurbishment?

Yes — diamond-cut refurbishment is one of our specialist Wheel Lab services, along with colour changes and custom finishes. The wheel is re-cut on the lathe and re-lacquered to protect the finish.

Where are my wheels refurbished?

At our Wheel Lab in Bicester, 2 Bessemer Close — our Oxford depot can look after straightening and inspections, but refurbishment itself is carried out in Bicester.
